I have some updated information regarding the health of a few of our classmates.
First, Sheri Houstin Speweik had emergency stomach surgery the other day. This followed complications after her back surgery. She was in intensive care over the weekend. I am not sure of the current status. The last I heard she still couldn't receive visitors, but prayers are encouraged!
Next, I have an update from John "Pie Man" Szychowski following his stroke and surgery from a couple of weeks ago. "I had a mild stroke 13 days ago that had me in the hospital for a week. Had surgery on my main artery to unclog blockage. Surgery was successful, and now home. Confined to my right hand, and it is improving already. Thank you for all the prayers I have received during this time. I know many did not here this news so wanted to let friends know I am doing ok and bouncing back. The Lord is good. Some lifestyle changes are being made to diet, weight loss and walking more. Thank you all at the VA hospital in Ann Arbor, MI for the great care I was provided. Top notch."
Finally, the last time I contacted Rose Corcoran Smith she was still recovering from pneumonia. Her chemotherapy treatments were on hold until the pneumonia diagnosis passed. She had been hospitalized twice for the pneumonia. Please keep Rose and all of our classmates with health issues in your thoughts and prayers!
